Boy oh Boy oh Boy......

So today was the big day the day to find out the sex of the baby. This is going to be the best birthday week for me ever. Yesterday we had a family birthday party for my 25th birthday and now today we get to go and find out the sex and then on my actual birthday I am going to the midnight showing of Eclipse!!! Chase and I took the day off to spend together and then we would not have to rush back to work after we find out. Well taking the day off made it a little harder to make the time pass. I know I especially felt that the day was never go to pass by. Finally around 1 we went to pick up Vanessa to take here with us. Our appointment was for 1:30 and I had to see two different doctors. Thankfully though we got to see the sonogram specialist first or I would have gone crazy. It did not take him long to run through everything. The heart has 4 chambers and looks really good, their is no cleft lip, two kidneys were present, and the blood flow from the umbilical cord looked good. I must say though that the baby definitely takes after it's father with a big head. You can really tell how big it is in the pics. Finally he asked if we wanted to know the sex, well of course!!! He said he had already seen it but we had no idea!! Finally he hit us with the great news......it's a beautiful baby boy!!! We were so excited! I had a few tears in my eyes!! We then had to wait to see my regular doctor so we called and text all the family the good news so later that day we could tell all of our friends. Everyone was excited for us and most people were already thinking we were going to have a boy! My regular doctors appointment went well I have gained a total of 6 pounds for the entire pregnancy and she was very pleased with me. My blood pressure is getting a little higher but nothing to worry about because I have normally been running at almost death, haha!! Now to just decide on a name since we are totally clueless on boy names and of course bedding! We are so not looking for the traditional boy bedding and it is really hard to find something we like. Now only 21 weeks to go until we finally get to meet him!

Baby's Fist Movements and Father's Day.....

Well at the 16 week appointment the doctor told me I would be able to start feeling the baby move but she said since this is my first pregnancy that it could take up to 18 to 20 weeks to feel it. Well on Saturday I had a busy day planned. I got up early and Vanessa, Kayden and I all drove out to the Coach outlet and other outlets to do a little shopping. We had a great time but by the time we got home I was exhausted! I decided I needed a little nap before my nail appointment at 3. When I woke up from my nap I was laying on the couch kinda on my back and I needed to go to the restroom(go figure). Right before I decided to get up I felt this weird feeling kinda like a nudging but kinda not. It is really hard to explain. I thought I was going crazy at first but it kept doing it and I could kinda see it on my lower stomach. I was freaking out I was so excited! It was so incredible, words could not describe it! The doctor was right I was right about 18 weeks when I felt it. The rest of the weekend if I sat still long enough and had to go to the bathroom I could feel it move!

On another note Sunday was Father's day so of course we celebrated with our fathers but I also celebrated with Chase. Even though the little one isn't here yet doesn't mean Chase is not a father yet. We went to lunch after church with Chase's dad and grandpa and had a great time. We ran into a few family friends and Jimmy was so excited to tell other people about the baby! It was great to see his expression and the smile on his face! Later that afternoon we drove out to see my dad and visit for a while. Of course, being my dad he had to give me a hard time about my pregnant belly by calling me fat. Well I get so upset when someone calls me fat I tell them it is not fat it is called pregnancy. He got a kick out of that. Overall it was a great day. I got Chase some new clothes for Fathers day and we went to Jamba Juice for dinner, Chase has been wanting that for weeks!

I know I need to seriously being posting the baby bump pics but I am really lazy by the time I get home! I have been taking them though so I will try to get right on that soon!

16 Week Appointment

Normally we go to the doctor on Fridays but she was so booked we had to make a Wednesday appointment, which actually meant we didn't sit in the lobby as long or wait in the room for very long. It is crazy to think that I am already 16 weeks pregnant, it has just flown by so fast. I mean only 5 more appointments before we start going every week. Just like the other appointments when we walk in the room I have to check my weight, which thankfully I gained 2 pounds or I was going to be in a lot of trouble. Then the nurse let us listen to the heartbeat again. Normally it takes her a few minutes to find it but not today, today she found it right away. I guess the little baby is getting bigger and we now do not have to hunt for it in there. It sounded strong and healthy at 150, which everyone keeps saying is a girl. I am not trying to get my hopes up that they are right but I do have my fingers crossed! Next up when the doctor came in it was time for a little Q & A! Normally I have a ton of questions but this time the only question I had was when can we find out the sex!?! My birthday is on the 30th of this month and I was hoping to find out on that day, it would make for a great birthday present. She told me that it has to be a day that her and Joe the guy who does the sonogram are both available so she went to look at their schedules. When she walked back in she said " I already know what you are going to say but would you like the 28th of June or July 8th?" well duh I am taking the 28th of June. That is only two days before my birthday so it will make for a great early birthday present. I am so excited for that appointment I can hardly wait, it will be like Christmas morning in June! Just when I thought we the appointment was over she asked if we had any other questions. I said no I don't think so and then she asked Chase. Well Chase decided he was going to make sure he told on my for my sunburn that I had gotten on Saturday. I could not believe it he was trying to get me in trouble! LOL! But to my surprise she was okay, she just told me that I need to make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and drink plenty of water. She said that during pregnancy you skin changes so normally you may be ok with burning and tanning and having no problems but now it will more than likely make you feel a little sick and take longer to turn into a tan. All in all a great appointment. Now only 19 day to go until we find out.....girl or boy?!?!?!?

To Much Sun...

So Chase was gone this past Friday and Saturday to go on a guys golfing trip to Austin. On Saturday it was so hot out that the only thing this pregnant girl could do was go swimming. So Kayden and I headed over to my grandmas pool at around 12:00 to go swimming. Of course I lathered her in sunscreen every twenty minutes so she would not burn being in the salt water pool. Well me on the other hand decided a little sun wouldn't hurt!! Well I put sunscreen on my face and that was it because I hardly ever burn on my stomach unless in a tanning bed. Half way through the day I decided I was getting a litte red and applied some sunscreen to my pregnany belly thinking it was not that bad. Boy was I wrong!!! Six and a half hours later when we went home and I took a shower I realized just exactly what I had done to myself. I was as red as a lobster on my chest, shoulders, arms, legs and the pregnant belly. Needless to say that night I got about 5 hours of sleep on the couch and did nothing on Sunday but sit on the couch and barely move. Now today I am feeling alot better and hoping that the redness will go down by the time we go to the doctor on Wednesday to check on Baby Hargrove!
