12 Week Dr. Appt...

Today was the 12 week appointment, time to find out if all is well with the little baby. I was really excited for this appointment, just to make sure everything is ok and then we can tell everyone else the big news. Once in the room we got to hear the babys heartbeat. It was my second time to hear it but Chase's first and he was so excited and the smile on his face was priceless. The babys heartbeat was strong and healthy at 160. Next was the blood pressure and weight check. Weight check got me in a little trouble cause I lost 1 pound in 4 weeks and the doctor wants me gaining 25 for the pregnancy. Once the doctor was in she said everything looks good and the babys heartbeat sounds great and strong. I asked when we could find out the sex of the baby and she said I would come back in 4 weeks for my next appt and then 2 to 3 weeks later come for the sex. I will be trying to set that appt up for my birthday for sure!!! The only other things I have to take care of before my next appt is to register with the hospital(Baylore Womens Hospital) and go and see my cardiologist for my heart condition. She wants me to see the cardiologist just so they will have a heads up of me being pregnant and that way will know what is going on if something happens later in the pregnancy with my heart acting up again. All in all a great doctors appt and I go back in 4 weeks.

Mothers Day

Today is my first Mothers Day! I can not believe that I am going to be a mommy in the near future. Today we had both families over to tell them the big news finally. Neither family knew the other family was coming that way hopefully there would be no guessing as to why we had everyone over at one time. The funny part is the year we got engaged we told everyone we were engaged on Mothers Day as well becuase it just had happened the Friday before so Mothers Day seems fitting for all of are little secrets to be revealed. Everyone showed up and we cooked out on the grill and watched the Rangers and had a great time. Once lunch was over it was time for presents and the big reveal. We got everyone together at the table and Chase started a speech. Well see speeches are not something you give at Mothers Day and Alison was like wait why is Chase giving a speech?!?! I could not say anything or look at anyone because I was going to loose it. Chase tells everyone that we wanted to get everyone together to tell them all at once that on this day it was also fitting to let everyone know we have a new mother, well he didn't quite get that far before Alison yells out "Monica is pregnant!" and then follows my dad with "I knew it!" which left me totally shocked. Everyone was so excited for us and had a million questions which we could not wait to answer and show off the little baby's first photo. We explained why we kept it a secret and that everyone had to still keep the secret until my next appt so that way if something had happened then only family would have to know. My dad had a feeling cause the nurse somewhat sllpped at my regular doctors office and then covered it up but then my dad thought we were being suspicious and caught on. I got to go and tell Jenny(my other mother) that she would be expected grandbaby #13 in November and she quickly told me it better arrive before she leaves on her cruise, which is just 3 days after my due date! We went later this evening to tell my mom and grandma and grandpa who were so thrilled that my grandpa ran to hug me and my mom was crying her eyes out. This day could not get any better or be a better Mothers Day then the one were I will actually be holding this wonderful little miracle.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you about how Kayden took the news. Well she was asleep when we got there but woke up and we waited a few minutes to tell her. I told her I had a secret for her and I hoped she would be super excited. Of course she wanted to know what the secret was! I told her Chase and I are going to have a baby. Well she didn't say anything but she didn't have to her smile said it all. She was really excited so then we asked her if she wanted it to be a boy or a girl. Well she did not like the idea of it being a girl but I think she will change her mind in the end. She started to pick out names for us and everything. It is going to be so much fun to see her with the baby and how she acts around her/him.

Anyways a great first Mothers Day for me and I hope all the other moms had a great day as well!!

Time to tell the Family.....

Mothers Day is on Sunday and we are finally telling the family. I am so excited to finally tell everyone, keeping it a secret has not been that hard but now you can kinda tell I am getting a little bump and people will be asking questions. We are having Chases parents, sister, brother-in-law, nephews, papaw, my dad and stepmom and my grandma all over for lunch. The families do not know the other family will be there simply because if they knew they were all invited they might suspect something. We still are not sure how to let the news out yet. Chase wants to be the one to tell the news and I am all for that because I might just blurt it out or just say nothing who knows. There is one catch though, when we tell our families they can not be releasing the news on facebook or myspace or anything like that. They now have to keep the secret until the 14th which is the 12 week appointment. I really don't think anything is wrong but just in case for some weird reason we went in and I had miscarried then I would not have to tell the whole world the news just the family. So nobody better cross Chase and I because it is our news to tell not anyone elses so they should respect that and it is only for 5 days then I will make a post and then they can go crazy! After lunch we will go out to my moms and grandmas and tell them the news as well. It is going to be a wonderful Mothers Day for our Mothers as well as for me, it is my first Mothers Day!

Something that is kinda funny is Chase's aunt Dolly always sees something about babies like a number and that will some how be incorportated into the time or weight or date they were born or just weird stuff like that. So everytime we see her at family events she(and everyone else) wants to know if we are pregnant yet. She has been telling us from the beginning that she sees we will have a little girl, man do we both hope she is right about that! We really would love a little girl, but a healthy baby either way makes us happy! Anyways on Easter everyone wanted to know if we were pregnant, well of course we were but we told everyone no not yet. Dolly then told us well dont worry you will be pregnant next month and it will be a girl. Well chalk one up to Dolly's weirdness or whatever you call it but in May we are annoucing that we are expecting so in some way she had the month of May right just not for finding out we are pregnant but for everyone else finding out we are pregnant. Now Dolly better be right about the baby being a little girl. Anyways we make the announcement on Sunday and I will for sure post and let everyone know how we did it and everyones reactions.
