Mothers Day

Today is my first Mothers Day! I can not believe that I am going to be a mommy in the near future. Today we had both families over to tell them the big news finally. Neither family knew the other family was coming that way hopefully there would be no guessing as to why we had everyone over at one time. The funny part is the year we got engaged we told everyone we were engaged on Mothers Day as well becuase it just had happened the Friday before so Mothers Day seems fitting for all of are little secrets to be revealed. Everyone showed up and we cooked out on the grill and watched the Rangers and had a great time. Once lunch was over it was time for presents and the big reveal. We got everyone together at the table and Chase started a speech. Well see speeches are not something you give at Mothers Day and Alison was like wait why is Chase giving a speech?!?! I could not say anything or look at anyone because I was going to loose it. Chase tells everyone that we wanted to get everyone together to tell them all at once that on this day it was also fitting to let everyone know we have a new mother, well he didn't quite get that far before Alison yells out "Monica is pregnant!" and then follows my dad with "I knew it!" which left me totally shocked. Everyone was so excited for us and had a million questions which we could not wait to answer and show off the little baby's first photo. We explained why we kept it a secret and that everyone had to still keep the secret until my next appt so that way if something had happened then only family would have to know. My dad had a feeling cause the nurse somewhat sllpped at my regular doctors office and then covered it up but then my dad thought we were being suspicious and caught on. I got to go and tell Jenny(my other mother) that she would be expected grandbaby #13 in November and she quickly told me it better arrive before she leaves on her cruise, which is just 3 days after my due date! We went later this evening to tell my mom and grandma and grandpa who were so thrilled that my grandpa ran to hug me and my mom was crying her eyes out. This day could not get any better or be a better Mothers Day then the one were I will actually be holding this wonderful little miracle.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you about how Kayden took the news. Well she was asleep when we got there but woke up and we waited a few minutes to tell her. I told her I had a secret for her and I hoped she would be super excited. Of course she wanted to know what the secret was! I told her Chase and I are going to have a baby. Well she didn't say anything but she didn't have to her smile said it all. She was really excited so then we asked her if she wanted it to be a boy or a girl. Well she did not like the idea of it being a girl but I think she will change her mind in the end. She started to pick out names for us and everything. It is going to be so much fun to see her with the baby and how she acts around her/him.

Anyways a great first Mothers Day for me and I hope all the other moms had a great day as well!!
